Are you striving for that ‘celebrity’ smile?
If your issues are purely cosmetic, veneers might be the right choice for you. Dental veneers can produce a smile that appears to be white, in the right shape, and the right size for your mouth. On the other hand, if you feel that your teeth are too yellow, stained or damaged for whitening, veneers might be the best choice for you to achieve a dramatic improvement to your smile.
About Veneers
Veneers are the easiest way to treat multiple cosmetic issues in one sitting, such as: minor crookedness, discolouration and gaps. They can also correct the appearance of teeth that are too small, too big or teeth that have uneven surfaces. Our veneer options include composite resin veneers, porcelain veneers, fine porcelain crowns and tooth reshaping. We also offer combination therapy with our teeth whitening treatments, Invisalign or dental implants.
Composite Resin Veneers
Our composite resin veneers share similar properties to composite resin fillings. Composite resin veneers can be colour matched to your natural tooth colour. These veneers usually last anywhere between three and five years, however, because the material is more porous than porcelain veneers. Unfortunately they can stain and chip over time and they may require polishing to address such spoiling. To apply these veneers, the resin is directly placed on top of the tooth and cured with a blue light. The larger the application of veneers, the more difficult it becomes us to control the size, shape and colour of resin veneers, so if you’re considering having a large portion of teeth veneered, porcelain veneers may be a more suitable option for you.
Porcelain Veneers
Our porcelain veneers are made up of very thin portions of porcelain that are glazed and reflect light, which makes them extremely life-like in appearance. They are more stain-resistant and sturdy than composite resin veneers, and they are also colour matched to your natural tooth colour. To apply porcelain veneers, the porcelain is cemented to the outside of the tooth, however, in cases where the cheeks, lips and face are misaligned, we may need to slightly ground down your natural tooth otherwise the veneers will be too prominent.
Fine Porcelain Crowns
Fine porcelain crowns closely resemble the colour of your own teeth, and can be used in conjunction with other restorative treatments such as root canal therapy, or they can simply be used for cosmetic purposes such as filling gaps, and creating a more even and attractive smile. We can use our fine porcelain crowns to repair damaged, broken and worn down teeth, prevent a weak tooth from breaking apart, and as part of a dental bridge or implant.
Tooth Reshaping
Teeth reshaping is a very convenient and cost-effective option for fixing chipped, uneven or poorly aligned teeth. Our team can combine the reshaping of teeth with a bonding treatment, where just like veneers we apply composite resin to your teeth to improve the overall appearance of your teeth. During reshaping process, we gently remove the tooth enamel before we alter the shape of your teeth for a proper bite or alignment. Your end result will be smooth, polished teeth.
Combination Therapy
To achieve a well-rounded smile, sometimes patients may need to undergo a combination of treatments to perfect their smile. We offer our patients the option of pairing their dental veneer treatment with other treatments such as Invisalign braces to ‘invisibly’ straighten teeth, teeth whitening for non-veneered teeth, and dental implants to correct prior issues.
Professional Warning
Beware of cheap veneer imitations, as poorly fitting veneers can promote gum problems, bleeding and tooth decay. Besides these serious issues, unprofessional veneers can appear to be quite unnatural in appearance.
